Join I.T. Supply Solutions and the City of Independence Police Department in Kentucky as we help raise funds for the department’s new K-9 unit!

We’ll be in the Senior Center parking lot (2001 Jackwoods Parkway in Independence, KY) from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 15, 2021.

About the City Independence Police Department

The City of Independence Police Department is pleased to report that they will be reinstituting a canine (K-9) Unit within the department. This unit existed previously at the department, going out of service in the late 1990s.

Thank you in advance for your contributions. Your support means so much to the IPD and their efforts to provide the best services.

The City of Independence Police Department is raising money for their K-9 program. The K-9 Unit has proven to be an important tool utilized by the police to combat crime and build community relations.

The department’s goal is to continue to provide this significant service to the citizens of Independence, KY. The current cost of outfitting a K-9 team (officer, K-9, vehicle, etc.) is approximately $75,000 and is not traditionally funded governmentally. Your police department’s goal is to seek assistance from the community in order to raise funds to place a K-9 Unit into service in 2021.

How Our K-9s assist our Community…

·         Canines are a visible deterrent.

·         Canines detect and locate illegal drugs that have been concealed.

·         Canines track criminals who have fled the scene.

·         Canines search for missing persons.

In addition, the City of Independence Police Department will use our canine as the “community’s best friend.” Our new dog will be on the road every day creating a bridge between the police department and the community.

How Can You Help?

The City of Independence Police Department and I.T. Supply Solutions have partnered to make the vision of a Canine Unit a reality. The Canine Unit is seeking support through e-waste recycling and community donations on Electronics Recycling Day. The obsolete IT equipment and materials collected will be refurbished and recycled with all proceeds used to offset K-9 Unit startup costs.
